Accounting Clerk (Montreal)

Job description

IO Solutions is looking for a full-time bilingual accounting clerk for its finance team in Montreal. Under the supervision of the Financial Controller, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining financial records and preparing various reports. The successful candidate will also run the accounting software Simply Accounting to process business transactions, such as accounts payable and receivable, and disbursements. An effective Accounting Clerk will ensure that the day-to-day accounting operations run accurately and efficiently.


  • Update cash flow, enter bank transactions into the accounting system and reconcile bank accounts daily
  • Follow up on accounts receivable, process and post sales invoices in the accounting system and prepare detailed sales summary files
  • Follow up on prepaid expenses and work to be invoiced
  • Set up and maintain asset acquisition files
  • Maintain amortization files and make monthly entries related to them
  • Prepare files and keep up to date the different financing of the company
  • Follow up on accounts payable, enter purchase invoices in the accounting system
  • Follow up on the monthly accrued expenses file
  • Prepare supplier payments and send payment notices to the appropriate people
  • Make monthly tax remittances and contact the various levels of government to obtain the balances to be paid
  • Assist other departments of the company upon request
  • All other related tasks


  • Excellent knowledge of French and English (written and spoken)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of the Office suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Simply Accounting (an asset)
