IO Solutions is looking for a Junior System Administrator to join our dynamic I.T. department.   • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and software applications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, both remotely and in-person, resolving IT-related problems.
  • Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining system security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and user authentication.
  • Conduct regular system backups and ensure data integrity.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as patching and updating systems.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to system administration.
  • Assist in inventory management and asset tracking of hardware and software resources.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in the implementation and enforcement of security measures to protect systems and data.
  • Managing/administrating the company’s Malware and Ransomware training program
  • The first line of support in reviewing and accessing suspected Malware and Ransomware emails.
  • Promote a cyber security culture.
  • Assist with Server Patch management.
  • Administer helpdesk ticket System
  • On a scheduled basis, review company security logs/alerts.
  • Setup/monitor security alerts
  • Position would include traveling across sites.


  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • 2 years minimum experience in a system administrator role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products
  • Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users
  • Demonstrated knowledge of communications devices and protocols, servers, & desktop technologies.
  • Knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) an asset
  • Basic understanding of hardware components and server infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures and documentation.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate are an asset.
  • Windows server 2008 – 2019 experience
  • Experience with Cisco ASA, Switches, Fortigate and Fortiswitch are an asset
  • Experience with Cisco Any connect VPN, Forticlient and FortiEMS are an asset
  • Proficiency in Linux experience is required
  • O365 & Azure Active Directory experience
  • O365 & Azure Active Directory backup
